Birding and Eco-Tours at Villa Nova Estate Farm and Vineyard
(Scroll down for more photos.)
We are located on the eastern edge of Norfolk County, in an area with sandy knolls and loam soils. Our property is bisected by a picturesque ancient river valley. The natural landscape of old pasture, wetlands, forested slopes, and hardwood forest provides habitat for wildlife such as grassland birds, wild turkeys and deer. Our beech-maple forest offers a variety of spring wildflowers, dominated by trilliums. Area cornfields attract Tundra Swans in the spring. Our alfalfa fields can provide easy walking for birders following fence lines or forest edge, while cut trails provide access to the valley bottom lands. You may need your wellington boots for dewy mornings or after rains. You need to sign a liability waiver before walking, and sign out on your return. You will have a guide and pay a modest fee for eco-tours. Check our blog for updates.
